I ran across this same problem. Before you perform the startup repair, unplug all of the peripheral hardware devices from the system, except the mouse and keyboard. If this does not work you will need to reinstall I have the exact same issue as all of you.

Worked! It has all my school things on it. I wa sable to press f8 to get to safe mode with networking option and access the internet and check my solution and response from Norton iot was a corrupt download! And who know after 2 days it's alive again.
I took my hardrive and I scanned for virus with AVG Internet Security 9.0, there was only one file infected, the virus name was delf.MFT or something like that.
