- Do you run Outlook in Cached mode? I've seen instances where the OST and offline settings files cause Outlook to crash.
- I've tried deleting their profile and setting it up again, repairing office, uninstalling completely and then reinstalling, and swapping out memory sticks.
- Do I download the patch for Outlook 2007 or for Office System.
- Do I need to reinstall KB2412171 before I apply the patch.
- When they reopen outlook the e-mail message is there and they are able to open it and read it just fine.

You may want to try running Scanpst the Microsoft Inbox Repair tool and see if that makes a difference.
