Could be virus or spyware or it could be something simply malfunctioning, either hardware or software. I suspect that it's on all the time, and it's not recieving the command to turn off. Try another free one such as adaware if spybot doesn't see anyhthing.Also try shutting down Kaspesrsky.If all else fails try a system restore. It hasn't improved and other programs are better now. SpywareBlaster is completely free and prevents them in the first place while not slowing a computer down like a real time application.
