Right click "NVIDIA Display Driver Service". I recently uninstalled AOL (not sure if this could > have anything to do with problem). I did only disable it in WinPatrol, and it is unchecked in msconfig -- so I guess I'll be able to recheck it in msconfig if I ever need it? Thanks.

B Worm could be masking as the legitimate nvcpl.exe. It should prevent it from being in start up.
