It does the install, but during the configuration section it gets stuck right at the beginning at 39 minutes remaining. It still stops at 35 minutes.
What I've noticed (and have gotten it to work on several occasions) is to remove all expansion slot cards except the ones needed (i.e. I have a new VAIO laptop that cam pre installed with VISTA. I'm repair installing windows xp pro on my dell latitude d620 with an installation cd from a computer I just got at work (windows xp pro, sp3).
